Real Estate Investors has been an active participant in the CMBS market for nearly 30 years and has become one of the largest investors in the market with annual investment volume of $1.5-3 billion. Our CMBS team invests in primary and secondary markets across CMBS product types, leveraging the strength of the REI platform to enhance risk-adjusted returns.

Our “one stop shop” structure means we have deep resources to manage our CMBS investments.

Portfolio Management
We believe in using active portfolio management and intense market research to select the best investments and maximize risk-adjusted return.

Support Services
Our in-house teams of engineers, appraisers, and credit professionals provide additional support throughout our investment process. In addition, REI’s dedicated market research team provides valuable macro and micro level market insights and updates on changing market conditions, so our team can make well-informed investment decisions.

We invest in the each of the major types of CMBS; conduit, single asset/single borrower, CRE CLO, and CMBX. We also work with bankers to arrange for the pre-purchase of securities, particularly for large loan transactions, new security types, and during periods when market conditions are highly variable.
